My Trip to Mama Mary, Going to Simala

Category: Travel
Location: Marian Hills, Lindogon, Simala

Going to Simala is pretty easy. I went there with my boyfriend and his brother. It's about 2 hours from Cebu City when you ride with Ceres Bus. First time namo tong nag-adto so pareha mi tanan wa kabalo sa dalan. But gladly, wa rapod baya mi nawala. Daghan man pod diay mi kasakay na nanaug sa Simala.

Nanukad mi sa Bus Terminal didto doul sa E-mall, (they call it city link, ambot ug ngano), we were asked by the dispatchers kun asa mi and we were told to pay terminal fee na P10.00 if we are going to Simala. We waited for a while since napuno naman ang bus pag-abot namo.

Hahaha... Wa man tawon koy kalibutang ug unsa naa sa Simala, confident ra kau ko nagshort ug sa dihang gibadlong ko ni Mr. Guard. Luckily Rap brought with him his sarong so I used it to wrap around my legs. Upon the entrance, mura nakag nakakita ug palasyo sa kadako sa kumbento and there was also huge statues of Mother Mary. That was Sunday when we went there, ug daghan kaayo ang tawo, taas kau ang linya. Subra pod to isang oras among tinindog didto paadto sa Holy Altar kun asa nahitabo ang pag shed sa tears ni Mama Mary.

Sa sulod, it was very neat and the ambiance is very nice. Mura jud kag naa sa palasyu. There’s a church where a mass is being held, on the other side is also a sort of museum sa mga Mother Mary, ang mga garments, mga prayers ug pasalamat gikan sa mga taw pod. Sa mga naayo sa mga sakit ug sa mga nakapasar ug board exams. Kit-an pa nako ang kang Torr na pasalamat atong naka pasar siya sa CPA. Hehehe…

The Holy Mary, the one that shed tears a few times was located at the back of altar. Kun mutan-aw ko niya mura kog maluya. And she was splendid. Gagilak jud iyang gowns. Some of our pictures below. Hope you guys can also go there, dili para mulaag kundi para mag pay visit sa Mother Mary. And even non-Christians are also welcome sa pag-adto didto.

Mao ni ang duha ka tambok. Dako na kaayo ang kumbento. Ana akong mama, payag payag pa daw ni sa  una adtong miadto siya.

Heart of Visayas: Cebu

Category: Travel
Location: Cebu

I’ve been going to Cebu for about 5 times now, and I’ve been thinking of recollecting my memories as to where and what landmarks and famous places I have visited.

According to wikipedia.com, there are 6 traditional landmarks for Cebu. These are:

Basilica Minore del Santo Niño
Fort San Pedro
Lapu Lapu shrine
Magellan's Cross
Magellan shrine
Cebu Taoist Temple

And yes! I have visited all these places. The sad part is I wasn't able to get pictures when I was there on some of these landmarks.

Basilica Minore del Santo Niño

February 2011 was my first visit there. Basilica Minore del Santo Niño is known to be the oldest church in the Philippines. When you visit Cebu, it is imperative among tourist that you visit the church not just to take pictures but to visit and thank Sto. Niño, the patron saint of Cebu. My baby always take me to the church when I visit him in Cebu, but the last time I went there we we're not able to because we didn't have much time and also we went to Mama Mary in Simala.

Magellan's Cross

Me and baby @ Magellan's Cross

The Magellan's Cross is just next to Basilica Minore del Santo Niño. It is not hard to locate it. It just a small circled room with a cross in middle of it surrounded with unlighted colored candles. Also, surrounding the shrine are the candle vendors. I still don't get it why the candles are not lit and where do the older candles go. If the vendors are there for a long time, could it be that shrine must be full of stacked candles already? If someone can enlighten me, please, I’ll be very happy to know why. My first visit there was also February 2011.

Cebu Taoist Temple

Me and classmates @ Taoist Temple

This is the first landmark I’ve been to. First went there last December 2008. I can’t recall where the place is located, but it’s worth the visit there. The place is calm and relaxing. It’s my first time to visit a Taoist temple; I was so amazed with the place, the architectures and the gardens – all are great views and worth the visit. I planned to visit the place again.

Fort San Pedro

I didn't have the chance to explore everything in the site when I was there because I was too tired to check the place and our bus only took a few minutes to stop there. When we visit there last December 2008, the entrance to the fort had some paintings and items with history facts. I’m not sure if it’s the same till now.

Lapu Lapu shrine and Magellan shrine

My classmates

The place was nice for picture taking and for history fieldtrips. You can also find lots of history facts in the park. Outside the park also are vendors of native goods such as guitars, bags and accessories at a very affordable price. I bought a bracelet as a souvenir for 10 pesos back then.

I would probably check back these places and see any improvements if I have a chance. And that’s my recollection of memories.

I tried gambling with pisobid tonight, but sadly I lost!

Category: Internet

I joined the bidding site last week, because I was tempted with the free 5 bids (which I thought was enough to win an auction) that they post on their ad on multiply marketplace. I was also curious how the site works and why the bids are very low, I studied their rules and made some google-ing about the site. Some says it is a scam, some says it is legit and to some, it’s gambling. Well, to sum it up, I believe the site is legit.

Earlier today I checked the sites auctioned items, and a lot of great goodies up for bids. So I decided to try their bidding system. I purchased the 100 bid pack worth P1000.00 and bid for the iPhone 4 black. I didn’t win. While bidding, I noticed I am always logged out, and logging back in is very difficult coz I have to do it for about 5 times or more before I can log-in back to my account and bid again. Sigh, when I log-in back, someone else won the item for about P40.00. I didn’t mind at all because I thought that it will be resolved when I check back after a few minutes. So, I still have about 80 bids left, I tried bidding for other items available but then again, same issue still occurred. I don’t know why the page logged me out automatically when it refreshes, and logging back in is very difficult. The time I spent logging back to my account is mostly the time the item I’ve been bidding is sold to another bidder! And oh, by the way, my account has been flagged (which I don’t know why) about 4 days prior to purchasing my bid pack, but they had it fixed already and said that my account is active. I not sure if it’s related with the log-in issue.

I still have 12 bids left on my account though. I’ll bid it with something else later on. If I’ll win with my 12 bids left, I’ll probably buy a new bid pack. But as for now, I’ll probably not gamble with pisoman, I felt I was cheated when my account always logged me out and logging back in is very difficult.

I guess its “better luck next time!”

My Lucky Day!

I personally want to thank Cebu Pacific Air for their very low rates, especially there Piso Fare Promos. I have the chance to easily fly to Cebu and spend my weekend without the worry of spending too much on my fare.

Last October 15, I enjoyed another Piso Fare ticket, and aside from that, I won their in-flight games. I really had a feeling I’m gonna win that time, and yes, I was the last winner! Yey!..

Here's my prize for showing them the new 20 Peso bill.

Thanks Cebu Pacific for making my flight a pleasant one! LOL!!
